WHAT IS A POLYURETHANE INJECTION?
It is the process by which a crack in a concrete foundation can be filled with polyurethane, which becomes a flexible watertight seal. We use SikaFix PU. It is a water-activated, two-component polyurethane injection grout used to rapidly stop water leaks in concrete. It expands around 25 times its volume and displaces water. Polyurethane is flexible compared to epoxy, which means if there is minor expansion, it won't leak. The process is done from inside the basement meaning it can be done without digging and waterproofing. In winter, polyurethane injection becomes an attractive option because hydro and gas lines can be buried in frostz, making it impossible or hard to dig. Its flexibility, expansion and the fact that moisture or water only helps it react is why we prefer to inject with polyurethane. We give a 10-year warranty for crack injections in most cases.

Waterproofing Basement or Foundation
There was small leak whereby little amount of water was coming into the basement. Chris from Bol Dan Foundation came to repair this leak. He is very reliable and timely with his communications. He recommended to repair the leak via injecting polyurethane in the crack. He took his time and made sure everything was done properly and the wood pieces that were cut out to reach the crack were drilled back in place.
